Here's A Thought : About 'Duke Nukem Forever'
To borrow a cliche, "unless you've been living under a rock" since 1998 that is, you'll know this whole Duke Nukem Forever thing, it's been in development since the date mentioned and it's been delayed and delayed like nothing else on this earth, and then finally last year Gearbox (makers of the Brothers in Arms and Borderlands games) picked it up and vowed to help 3D Realms finish this thing, so, it's done, and it's out. I played it and here is what I think :
The fact is -despite all the negative reviews- the game is fun and enjoyable, that is if you didn't actually wait for it all those years and if you haven't been hyping it and expecting it to be the perfect video game, actually, once it entered this century that probability was gone. the game feels and plays like a game from the last century, like the Quake games or the first Unreal Tournament, it looks ok for 2011 and great for 2006 or 2005 and I can live with that, it's long enough maybe longer than any Call of Duty title that was released in the recent years. there's a lot of sexuality, explosions, chicks and crude humor but that's Duke Nukem for you, and it works, I didn't encounter any glitches or control issues, so, to end this little rant, I believe it doesn't deserve the 60$ price tag but it's worth a rental and a run through to just get that old school feeling of video games before all the realism and the complicated control schemes, to take you back to simpler times. My rating is 6.5/10
